The Danaher Motion /Giddings and Lewis Machine and Motion ControlMMC units provide a complete solution for machine and motion control in one unit. Built-in I/0 can be extended with Giddings & Lewis serial distributed block I/0.
The MMC consists of a motion control module and a machine control module (on the right). The machine control side of the MMC unit incorporates the CPU module. Ladder logic programming is used for machine control. The motion control end of the MMC unit can be an analog service module or a co-service system module. Analog service modules provide traditional analog/digital interfaces for two or four drives.
