Ge manufactured the DS200LDCCH1ALA board as a driver control and local area network (LAN) communication card. This card is used as a Mark V Series driver board. Drive through the Direct Automatic 2000 series to install this card in its drive cabinet. The board offers a range of features such as device, motor and I/O control functions.
This drive control and LAN communication board features four microprocessors that filter card signals. The digital and analog I/O sent to the motherboard is received and filtered by the onboard Drive Control Processor (DCP). Input to the inverter is filtered through the LAN control Processor (LCP) found on board the LAN system. The two remaining processors, the Motor Control processor (MCP) and the Co-motor processor (CMP), work in tandem with each other. This MCP provides initial processing space for digital I/O communications. If the computation required for the signal exceeds the spatial power provided by the MCP, the CMP will supplement the processing power. The board consists of a connectable alphanumeric keyboard.
GE’s EX2100e excitation control system is a software-enabled generator control system for steam (including nuclear), gas and hydro generators. The EX2100e has a configuration for new installations and retrofits of existing systems. The EX2100e control hardware and software are an integral part of the Mark* VIe control product line.
The integration between excitation systems, turbine controls, static starters, distributed control systems (DCS) and human machine interfaces (Hmis) that do not require third-party interfaces or gateways is seamless.
For stand-alone retrofit applications, tight integration with plant control systems is possible through a variety of protocols, including Modbus/TCP or hardwired.

ControlST integrates important data throughout the plant, including data from external systems that would otherwise be unavailable, and presents it in a meaningful context that reduces system costs.

Rotary exciter regulator
The Ex2100e product family includes simplex and redundant automatic voltage regulator systems, typically used for small excitation currents. The solution is specifically designed to address generators of all sizes and is embedded with all the necessary controls, limitations and protections to help generators operate safely. This flexible excitation product can be customized to retrofit most configurations.
Static excitation system
For higher excitation currents, the thyristor-based EX2100e static excitation system is available in a variety of configurations to provide flexibility and economically meet excitation current requirements. Its control architecture uses a simplex configuration or redundancy (triple modular redundancy) configuration combined with converter redundancy (hot backup, n-1, n-2) for maximum availability.
Retrofit generator control
For optimal retrofit, GE offers a digital front end (DFE) as the control portion of the excitation system to upgrade the existing excitation system with the latest control technology, while preserving the existing power conversion portion to minimize cost and downtime.
