The 5069-IY4 and 5069-IY4K analog 4-channel universal input modules offer differential and single-ended non-isolated input channels as well as thermocouple and RTD input channels and can work in a wide range of applications. Modules can work in multiple input ranges depending on the input type connected to the module. The Compact 5000?I/O module uses the producer/consumer communication model. The producer/consumer communication model is an intelligent data exchange between modules and other system devices, where each module generates data without first polling.

These modules are used as local I/O modules in CompactLogix?5380, Compact GuardLogix?5380, and CompactLogix 5480 controller systems. They can also be used as remote I/O modules with CompactLogix 5380, Compact GuardLogix 5380, CompactLogix 5480 controllers, and some other Logix 5000? controllers.
The 5069-IY4 is a general-purpose analog input module that is part of the Compact 500 I/O module. The module primarily features four (4) differential input channels that are compatible with a variety of input signals such as voltage, current, resistance, resistance temperature detector (RTD), millivolt and thermocouple signals and sensors.
When configured as a voltage input, the module supports voltage ranges of ±10V, 0-10V, and 0-5VDC. Similarly, when configured with millivolt input, the acceptable input range is +/- 100 mV. The module is equipped with a Sigma-Delta analog-to-digital converter circuit. It converts and saves data in IEEE 32-bit floating-point format. Its module scan time is 625 μs per channel and 2.5 ms per group. Its overcurrent and overvoltage protection ratings are ± 30 mA and ± 30V DC, respectively.
The module’s power bus, or MOD power bus, has both a straight-through voltage range and a normal voltage range of 18-32V DC with a maximum rated current of 9.55A and a maximum current of 75mA. The SA or sensor actuator has a maximum field power current of 100 mA, a field power voltage range of 18-32V DC, a through voltage range of 0-32V DC, and a maximum rated current of 9.95A. The 5069-IY4 module has a maximum power consumption of 1.8 W in voltage mode and thermocouple/millivolt mode, and 2.1 W in current mode and RTD mode. Its maximum power consumption is 6.1 BTU/ hour in both voltage and thermocouple/millivolt modes, and 7.2 BTU/ hour in both current and RTD modes. The module has been factory calibrated, but calibration can be configured as required. The status indicators include four yellow and red I/O status leds, one green and red module status leds, and two yellow and red CJC status leds.
