The 1391-DES45 is a microprocessor-based digital servo drive primarily used in Allen-Bradley’s 1326 servo motor. The servo drive is compact in design, but the drive supports add-ons, which are part of the drive’s extensibility capabilities.

The main features of the 1391-DES45 include an integrated display for local configuration of servo drive parameters. It also has an encoder output of optional options, including 2048,1024,512 and 256 pulses per motor rotation. Higher pulses provide higher resolution and higher feedback accuracy.

The front panel of this servo drive displays the Human Machine interface module (HIM) with five (5) numeric keypads that allow navigation and modification of the drive’s parameters. It also has a global status LED that flashes green when no fault and low bus voltage are detected; Steady green when there is no fault and the bus voltage is normal; Blinking red when the drive fails. It also has an enable LED, which is steady green when the enable input is turned off. The enable LED does not light up when the enable input is turned on.

The TB2 and TB3 interface terminals are located at the bottom of the servo driver. TB2 is used to interface with external signals, and TB3 is used to terminate the encoder output signal. Integrated fuses and circuit breakers as well as TB4, TB5 and duty cycle selector switches are located on top of the driver. Enclosures ventilated with ambient air must have proper filtration to protect the 1391-DES45 from oil, coolant, dust and condensation. Operating temperature range :32 ~ 40 degrees Fahrenheit, relative humidity 5 ~ 95%(non-condensing). The power consumption at operation varies with the load: 104 W at 20%, 208 W at 40%, 312 W at 60%, 416 W at 80%, and 520 W at 100%. The integrated 3-pole magnetic circuit breaker protects the DC bus power supply, input rectifier and power circuit from overcurrent. The drive measures 482.6 x 157.5 x 293.6 mm and weighs 15.4 kg.
