Allen-Bradley 1771-IFMS is an analog input module that is part of the 1771 Product announcement. The module is compatible with PLC5 processors and has 8 input channels. The module is an intrinsically safe, fast millivolt input module.
The 1771-IFMS accepts input voltage signals from 0 to 50 mV with a resolution of 12 bits binary. When operating at 25 degrees Celsius, it has an accuracy of 0.1%. Linearity +/ -1 LSB, repeatability +/ -1 LSB, input voltage protection 32V. The module is designed to operate in a maximum input voltage range of +/- 10VDC.
This analog input module comes with an internal analog to digital converter that uses a monotonic output with no lost code. It has an internal scan rate of 14.5 ms for eight (8) differential inputs without digital filtering.
When the input device is connected to the 1771-IFMS, the appropriate wire size for the 1771-WG wire swing arm terminating to the module is 0.25… 2.5mm2 (22… 14 AWG) Solid or stranded copper wire diameter with an insulation class of 75°C(167°F) or higher with a maximum insulation of 1.2 mm(3/64 inch). The appropriate wire torque is 0.8 to 1.0 Nm (7 to 9 lb-in).
Do not install this module when the PLC5 system is powered on. It does not support disassembly and insertion under power supply (RIUP). In addition, pay attention to correct operations to prevent damage to the module caused by static electricity.
The input resolution of the 1771-IFMS module is 12 bits binary. The accuracy is 0.1% of the range of 25 degrees Celsius. Both linearity and repeatability are +/-1 LSB. The input overvoltage protection rating is 32v. Module input impedance is 1 megohm. The common mode rejection is 100db(at 60 Hz). The backplane current of the 1771-IFMS module is 0.75 amps at +5 volts DC. The connection arm compatible with the 1771-IFMS module is the 1771-WG. The recommended torque range of the screws for the onsite distribution arm is 0.8 to 1.0 N-m. The 1771-IFMS module housing is open and complies with the North American T6 temperature specification. Operating temperature range is 0 ~ 60℃. Relative humidity :5% ~ 95%, no condensation. The 1771-IFMS module has non-operating and operating shock ratings of 30g and 15g, respectively.
