The output voltage provided by this system is proportional to the distance between the probe tip and the conductive surface being observed. It is versatile and capable of performing both static (position) and dynamic (vibration) measurements. The system is primarily used for applications involving vibration and position measurement of fluid film bearing machines. It is also suitable for bond phase ? and velocity measurement applications.

The 330103-00-12-10-02-CN 3300 XL 8 mm system represents a significant advance in eddy current proximity sensor systems. The standard 3300 XL 8 mm 5 meter system is fully compliant with the American Petroleum Institute (API) 670 Standard (4th edition) for mechanical configuration, linear range, accuracy and temperature stability. This level of performance is achieved throughout the system, allowing probes, extension cables and proximity ? sensors to be fully interchangeable without the need for individual component matching or bench calibration.

Each component of the 3300 XL 8 mm sensor system is backward compatible and interchangeable with other non-XL 3300 Series 5 and 8 mm sensor system components. This includes 3300 5 mm probes for cases where 8 mm probes are too large for available mounting space.

The 3300 XL Proximity ? sensor has several improvements over previous designs:

It is designed for high-density DIN rail mounting and can also be mounted in traditional panel mount configurations.
The mounting base of either option provides electrical isolation without the need for a separate isolation plate.
The sensor is highly resistant to radio frequency interference (RFI) and can be installed in a fiberglass housing without being affected by nearby RF signals.
Improved RFI/EMI immunity enables the 3300 XL Proximity ? sensor to achieve European CE Mark certification without special shielded ducts or metal housings, reducing installation costs and complexity.
SpringLoc terminal blocks require no special installation tools for faster, more robust field wiring connections.
Connector protectors can be used to increase environmental protection.

Improvements over previous designs include:

A patented TipLoc? molding method for a stronger bond between the probe tip and the probe body.
Patented CableLoc? design for securely connecting probe cables.
The optional FluidLoc? cable prevents oil and liquids from leaking inside the cable.
Corrosion-resistant, gold-plated ClickLoc? connectors require only hand torque and have a locking mechanism.
Optional connector protector for increased environmental protection.
Extended temperature range Applications:
Extended Temperature Range (ETR) probes and extended cables can be used in applications where temperatures exceed 177 °C (350 °F). The ETR probe has an extended temperature rating of up to 260 °C (500 °F), while the ETR extension cable has the same temperature rating. These components are compatible with standard temperature probes and cables.
