PROSOFT? MVI56-PDPS PTC? PTC today announced a strategic supplier relationship with the Volkswagen Group, focusing on PTC’s Codebeamer Application Lifecycle Management (ALM) solution to support software development for the next generation of electric vehicles from the Volkswagen Group and its brands. As part of the development of the new electric vehicle, Codebeamer is expected to improve the efficiency of the Volkswagen Group’s engineering practices in software requirements management, test management and release management. As the partnership progresses, PTC and the Volkswagen Group expect to roll out Codebeamer across a number of Volkswagen Group engineering teams to support the software development process.

ALM solutions like Codebeamer are important tools for efficient software development, helping to ensure software components for different vehicles are planned, tested, and released. PTC will work with the Volkswagen Group to transition from the ALM tool to Codebeamer and define and implement software best practices for the automotive industry. It is expected that the Volkswagen Group’s use of Codebeamer will inform the priorities and needs of the future Codebeamer roadmap to enable PTC to gain ALM market share in the automotive industry.
